We stayed in Mauritius for a month, so you could have guessed that we’ve visited aImost every spot ib this island! Some were off-spots and some were the most popular spots! I’ve already rated five in the list of famous spots, so do not forget to check that blog post out!

Lets start!

1- Black River Gorges National Park

The best view points are located here as you could have already guessed! Although, it seems like one spot, it really isn’t! It’s a park which covers an area of 67 kilometres and has a number of spots inside! We decided to explore this area on my sister’s birthday and that was the BEST DECISION!! Not just one, we visited three viewpoints that day! As soon as we reached Machhapuchre viewpoint, it started raining and thats what made the day so aesthetic! In the month of April, you can expect the weather to become extremely pleasant suddenly and thats what made our days so beautiful!

I would give a rating of 4.5/5 to this place!

2- Tamarin Beach

This has to be one of my favourite beaches in Mauritius! Located in the west side of Mauritius, this beach looks and feels so much pleasant! Here, you will not find any crowd and the kind of cleanliness maintained makes this a top notch beach! Although we couldn’t spend much time here as our drone got stolen! Other than that, everything was great! The colour of the water here is in such a serene shade, I loved it! I found this one so much better than other beaches like Flic en Flac beach. Highly recommended to visit!

This beach deserves a rating of 4.5/5

3- Notre Dame Church

I remember a wedding taking place in the moment we arrived, the church looked so bright and beautiful from outside! It was painted in red and white colour, so pretty and different! I just love the uniqueness that this island brings in religious architectures! But the interior wasn’t that special. Hence, for the praying purpose, its great but it isn’t a spot to explore or do any activities. The beach just beside, however, is perfect to relax, in the evening especially!

As a rating, I would give this place a 2.5/5 star rating.

4- Casela Nature Park

This is the place where you get to interact with animals! One of the most memorable experiences of ours was interacting with the world’s largest and longest living tortoises! Tortoises from Seychelles! However, other interactions included just looking at the animals from a distance and for many hours we were mostly walking and this place is quite less lively, if I may compare it with other animal interaction parks! Another interaction we had was with peacocks which wasn’t under the package but we attracted them by the snacks we had, overall, the place could have made more interesting by including activities and lively interactions!

I would give this park a rating of 2.5/5

5- Grand Bassin

This one comes under the list of my favourite spots in Mauritius! Two words that come to my mind when I think about this place is, tranquility and divine! Beautiful idols of Gods and Goddesses such as Lord Ganesh, Shiv, Vishnu, Lakshmi devi, Durga mata and Sai Baba were seen here! As I mentioned before, there’s something different about religious places in this diverse island! I remember ringing the bell and feeling so much at peace right from that moment! A few Hindu temples are located here. I just love how nature contributes majorly in the atmosphere of such places! Here as well, a beautiful river is located and the air around too felt like it belongs to this divine place!

This place deserves a 5/5!
