You might have looked for the ‘best spots of Mauritius’ on internet and might have gotten names of many popular spots, but are they really that great?

Well, in this blog post, I will share my experience as well as rate a few spots that come under the list of popular spots.

1- Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth-

I remember us waiting for the right weather to visit this spot, that is because the seven colours appear during a sunny day. The spot is huge! The layers are protected very aesthetically by fences. Just this, no! You’ll also see the beautiful view of the beautiful Chamarel Waterfalls before heading to the actual spot! While making an exit in the end, we also stopped to see the enormous, longest living tortoises in the world, originated from Seychelles. Overall, I liked the spot but its not that magnificent as seen on the internet.

I would give this spot a rating of 2.5/5

2- Île Aux Cerf Islands

This has to be one of my favourite spots! Why? Because this tiny island in Mauritius has the best white sand beach called, Trou Aux Biches. The atmosphere around was just so bright and plush! I also remember walking in a lagoon for the first time. Although, we just explored just a part of this island as we had to cover other spots as well through our Catamaran cruise, I know for sure that this island has many other amazing spots as well! This island is just beyond description!

I’ll give a straight 5/5 to this spot!

3- Flic en Flac Beach

I remember this beach being our very first spot in Mauritius! First of all, its extremely crowded especially during the morning and daytime! Because of being very crowded, of course the water is very polluted! Although, during the weekends, it is quite happening as people gather and celebrate the weekend! We had decided to come back to this beach in the evening and when we did, it was much calmer and pleasant at that time due to the weather, there was no crowd as well! However, I find other beaches much better than this one.

I would give this spot a rating of 2/5

4- Port Louis

Another favourite spot of mine! Not a spot, actually an entire city Port Louis is! Here, people can enjoy the city life which is not usually seen in other districts. If you want to have the yummiest food of different kind and visit luxurious malls for shopping and relaxing, this city is exactly where you need to be! However, these places are pretty crowded especially during the evening and night time! This city was literally our saviour when it came to food, Indian food! Caudan Waterfront is one spot that I highly recommend to visit in this city!

This one, for me, is 4.5/5

5- Pamplemousse Botanical Garden

I remember feeling very excited to visit this spot after looking at those pictures of large, beautiful water lilies! However, one major drawback is that this place is like a maze! It was extremely tough to get to the major floral spots in this enormous garden by ourselves! Hence, going with a guide is highly recommended! For two hours straight, this place felt like a usual garden with nothing special to really look at and in the end, we found ourselves standing in front of the water lilies! Feeding the deers in the end is the cutest memory of this day.

I would give a rating of 2.5/5

That’s all for this blog post.
