Pamplemousse botanical garden, known for its beautiful pond which is full of water lilies and history! It’s like a maze of nature! this is what comes to my mind at least!
The entrance of this place was beautiful! Contributions of many late people given in a few sentences, the architecture of a palace and a vast and lush garden with beautiful flowers and plants were seen which we found very photogenic! Just outside the palace, there stood very tall and dense trees! We spent time a lot of a time here and now the time to get lost in the maze begins!
Even though there was a guided, but we decided to go on our own as the route seemed quite figured out when we started moving on the radiant paths with colourful flowers and a waterfall, but it was clearly not, we realised later! We kept on walking on a path which looked like a deep forest, don’t worry, it wasn’t, as I, on the prior day to this saw a video on internet which said that animals can be seen here as well, I expected to see them but we didn’t. In the end, however, we had interaction with deers!
Some paths were bright, full of light and bright green trees and some were dense but each one of them were picturesque and we kept on getting a few clicks here and there until we ended up standing in a spot downstairs which again looked dense because of low natural lighting there. We thought that this is one of the spots but nah, this was a spot in the maze that had just begun, not like we thought of that this is the end!
After a while, we moved upstairs and took a path that was full of tall and bright green trees, here, we saw a few foreigners who were also figuring the path and my father asked them if they knew where we could see the animals but just like us even they had no idea whats going on! We walked for quite a long time and then saw a beautiful spot here! Huge white flowers, intensity of the sun and different kind of trees are all the different words that I’ll use to tell what this place was! It was not the main spot but definitely a beautiful one in between!
Now we again started moving and this time with confidence that we are just about to reach the spot but after a while it again felt like as if there’s no end to this maze and we all were tired, my father decided to rest on the bench for some time and then continue with the journey and meanwhile, we three were walking with our own fantasies in our head, my sister somewhere else, me somewhere else and my mother somewhere else! Although I really wished to see the waterlilies and have interaction with different animals, it didn’t look like for the moment that we’ll be able to make it!
We then motivated ourselves again and started moving! On the way, we saw this beautiful, huge in size, orange flower and huge, light green trees and me and mom had some fun while making boomerangs with the flower.
After wandering and staying confused the entire time, we finally made it to the main spot on our own! Large pond of beautiful water lilies that looked so tender and beautiful and we made it just right on time! Clicked pictures, rested and spent a good amount of time here! The water lilies we so huge in size and looked exactly like seen on the internet! This was the spot where we saw people finally, otherwise we were absolutely the only people walking on those paths! It did feel mysterious till now but now it looked very bright and the sun was still there in the sky! We were finally standing in this pretty and green ‘water lilies’ spot!
As the sun was shining with its high intensity, we then moved out of that exact zone and rested in the shade, there was a small water body near too we moved there after some time.
Now, time to reveal! We had an adorable interaction with the deers in the end! We fed them grass and played along while doing so! We plucked grass, fed them, plucked grass and fed them, this for quite a long time , i’d say approximately 40-45 minutes and we all absolutely loved that time! A huge family of deers under a protection of strong wires were residing and we tried to feed each one of them until some of them weren’t hungry at all and sat with a pride posture, especially the old ones while the young ones were still hungry and so many of them stood at one spot where we were feeding them behind the wires to get their food!
We again rested for some time on the bench after doing so and these were all the spots that we had to cover and we did!
It was really tiring most of the time but we got to see those full of wonder, beautiful huge water lilies and have interaction with the deers which I’d say was absolutely worth it and overall we had a different kind of experience in travelling that day! Which during some or the other travels, you definitely do!
