Mauritius! In the southern part of Africa, a petite island filled with captivating views of the mountains, waterfalls and beaches! What makes this island so interesting enough to know the entire history is that the native language here is French!
This year, in the month of April, we decided to visit this beautiful and lush island and guess what…it was my sister’s birthday month! Even though the initial were all like a celebration but this day, it as if had some magic in the air! Her birthday was truly planned by the nature this time, more than us 😛
In the noon, when we left for the Machhapuchre View Point, it shined bright but the moment we arrived, it started drizzling! The whether, just perfect to enjoy and feel the nature, to feel the soul in us that always wants to dance, have fun, run and laugh! Those moments were just perfect and what we like to say, ‘Aesthetic’
We had a lot of fun but soon it started pouring and we had to rush to the car and now, Alexandra Waterfalls! A viewpoint with one of the best views of Mauritius! Sitting in the car and listening to sometimes up-beat and sometimes soothing was a different nostalgia! Now we arrived-
Oh My! The view and the air, it was dreamy, it was magical! We stood and looked at the beautiful view and here’s a glimpse…
We had to borrow an umbrella as it was drizzling 🌧
We had a lot of fun is an understatement!
We looked, laughed and tried to be adventurous 😜
Local shops with souvenirs and stuff such as magnets, crystals, antique toys, jewellery and more were in the entrance too!
We enjoyed her for quite a long time, and now my favourite, the last spot of this special day! It was a neighbouring waterfall of Alexandra waterfalls.
This spots, it was more of a garden with deep green and lush trees all around, it was like a maze! The last one was a viewpoint that people can stand and look at, why is this spot my favourite? Its because this place was so much like those spots that we used to have an imagination about in our childhood and in fairytales!
The grey sky in the cloudy weather indicated that the evening is transitioning into night and we couldn’t spend much time here, but yes, we covered everything that we should have.
To have birthday sweets and dinner, we then decided to go to the mall, Bagatelle mall, in Port Louis, this mall was my favourite out of all the malls here as they had such cute and picturesque spots, a big teddy with a small table and sitting area, restaurants with big neon titles and neon signs all around! I just loved the decor and the super luxury vibe of this mall!
We shopped for a lot of stuff, that I do not have to hide now, gifts for my sister and me too 😜 Most of them are souvenirs that we cherish! A vintage brown scrapbook with Mauritius written on it, cute and antique bowls for both of us with cute and lustrous elements attached on it like turtle and crystals.
We certainly spent a lot of time in shopping but nevertheless, in the end we had our dinner and celebrated my sister’s birthday with adorable looking small desserts and candles!
