Chateâu De Labourdonnais- Best waterfall experience!

A view of a waterfall is nice ,BUT, sitting under the waterfall, experiencing the magic through the water cascading on you called nature is a different experience!

Chateâu De Laboudonnais, as the name in french says is a palace of the French naval officer called La bourdonnais in Mauritius. The palace is very vintage, huge and luxurious if we compare it with other places at that time, this place is actually seen as a museum! We spent so much time here roaming around. First of all, it had many rooms and in each room there were vintage pieces either on the table, wall or on in the decor!

You might be thinking, where is the waterfall? Well, even we had no idea that we’ll have such an experience. On the google, this place is just known for its architecture and huge garden in a symmetrical shape that I cannot name, but it was beautiful! The waterfall, in fact, multiple waterfalls can be found if you move to the absolute front of the palace! There you’ll find a way to a deep forest, and when you trek down through the stairs for 15-20 minutes, there you go! A beautiful waterfall in front of your eyes!

Of course, we had to step up on the huge rocks to get closer and even closer and there were we, me and mom sitting the closest to the waterfall! If I have to describe the way we felt, through words, I’d say it was an absolute bliss! We were shivering initially as the water was cold, of course and we were getting all wet which I wasn’t prepared for, but loved it when it happened! It was all quiet and only the sound of the loud water falling could be heard.

My mom said and I’ll always remember this, every element of the nature, in this case, water is universe and what do you do when you want to communicate with universe? you express your gratitude for everything that you have, for this absolute moment that is so beautiful and this exact day with the exact memory which will never come again, so be grateful and make the most out of this! So there we were, feeling a sense of tranquility and feeling extremely grateful to the universe up and a part of it which was in front of us for everything!

We spent time here and then decided to trek upwards where other waterfalls were situated too! We wanted to visit other waterfalls in the way too but we were quite done and really wet so we couldn’t spend much time but we did sit near two twin waterfalls for some time! Then we moved and came back to the spot where we were standing before trekking and in between, we just saw an old couple going downwards, not everyone were aware of this spot I guess! It literally looked like a secret fairy tale spot where we spent a beautiful time!

I must say, this was one of my favourite days in Mauritius which happened to be day 4!

The sun was shining bright, we took a few clicks and then sat on the bench, in the garden, it felt so warm and comforting as we were a lil tired. Me, mom and my sis were chatting, laughing, joking and eating snacks, while dad was preparing the drone to take a few amazing shots in this huge garden and the palace as a view! After a while, we did

After that, we changed our clothes and went to the spot, which was absolutely a part of this palace, but we didn’t see closely, the balcony!

Balcony with beautiful crisp white fences, 2 white tables, one in left and other in left along with white chairs! Yess, everything in sharp white! The view of the garden too looked beautiful from here! We relaxed here for some time, had goofy and funny conversations and then had a few clicks in the balcony, outside and with stairs, mostly mom as we all were really tired now! Everything about this place, although it was really old seemed very royal till now but this balcony was definitely renovated as it was shining and looked very fresh!

We had a short yet a sweet time here which I absolutely loved and will remember forever as the best waterfall experience in Mauritius!
