If asked, what comes to your mind first when you think about your trip to Mauritius…what’s your absolute favourite memory? I’d say, the day we went to the Catamaran Cruise!

The day before this day, as we had covered so much so far, we decided to go for a water activity, now what exactly, that we were going to decide in that moment but we as such had no expectations. As said by someone, best things come to you when you least expect it, since this amazing day, I swear by this quote!

Now why I say this is because, we had our first cruise experience in Mauritius and I’d say, this will always remain the best one! I was a lil upset initially as I wanted to bring a dress that I forgot too, funny right? but that’s me!

Unlike other kinds of cruise experiences, this one, called catamaran cruise is more luxurious and we, in the moment, decided to go for this one!

Contradicting the forecast, the weather was sunny but it felt so warm and dreamy as there was a slight wind due to the motion and while entering in the cruise, we met another Indian family!

We were standing at one of the beaches of the Trou D’eau Douce and that’s from where the cruise began! The cruise was immense in size and we were sitting in the outside area and enjoyed the beautiful views which were moving from our sight with the ship. While I was sitting on a spot in the corner, I was moved by 3-4 old filipino ladies as they wanted to click pictures and their eyes clearly reflected that they wanted to make the most of these moments just like us!

The very first spot towards which our cruise was moving was, Ile Aux Cerf!

A small island but with humongous spots, brilliant views and absolutely perfect environment! The weather, it turned into extremely sunny but nevertheless, this is the time when you’re actually meant to be on a beach! The best part is, the water, turquoise in colour!

Unlike other beaches, we went to in Mauritius, this one was a white sand beach! We wanted to go to such a beach from so many day and here were we! I must say, this was the finest spots out of all that we visited. The sand so smooth, it felt relaxing to walk here barefoot!

We spent a lot of time on the beach where the cruise left us at and now we went further and while doing so, my father found these sea animals called Urchins! Further, we saw a lagoon. We enjoyed walking in this lagoon as there were so many tiny fishes. We crossed it and walked to the corner which had so many palms to have our afternoon meal which were snacks basically that I enjoyed so much!

This was the spot that we spent the longest time, which was approximately 2-3 hours.

We again had a few clicks and then we decided to change and step in the cruise for the next spot! We got really late actually and sat in the last boat that was leading to the cruise.

Our next spot was, which we were not told about, except saying waterfall, the grand river south east waterfalls!

From the cruise, we shifted to the boat as this waterfall is located or can say, is a part of the longest river called Grand River South East River.

That feeling when we were in the centre of nature, in the middle of the river, the boat was sailing, closer and closer to the huge waterfall, cannot be really put in words! It felt so relaxing and adventurous at the same time!

We experienced the waterfall while the boat and continuously sailing and it felt as if these moments were happening in a slow motion setting and the sound and sprinkles of the loud water passing through the body felt so relaxing. If you ever observe, you feel the calmest when you’re near the water body no matter how much exhausting energy you come with! After sometime, it turned and returned to where the cruise stood.

This was our last and again and amazing spot and now back to the cruise, on the way to Trou D’eau Douce! But Trou D’eau Douce was hours away and till then we had our dreamy moments! This is when loud and upbeat music played, everyone were relaxing and vibing to the music and there I was, looking at the tropical, turquoise water, my mind was completely in the state of tranquility and thought, I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day than this!

Now we could snorkel in the sea and we tried to, tried as it felt a lil scary due to the water being so deep and us not really being to manage and balance in the water. We tried to snorkel for the first time on our own! But, learning to be an amazing snorkeler is on my list for the next travel!

Soon, I went to the top of this huge ship where my mother was getting few clicks, not few though and I too started posing. At this time, the weather happened to be cloudy and it could’ve start rainy at any time, it did, but in the end! It felt beautiful and magical! We all felt grateful and happiest as we knew that this day will never come back!

It started raining after a while and the cruise returned to Trou D’eau Douce as well, luckily, the first boat got filled by all and until the second boat came, we had some time to enjoy in the rain and then back! We thought so, the second boat that was taking us to our exact spot where our car was parked came and we all got wet. Even though, we were physically tired, that inner child in all of us still wanted to make more than the most from this day! After dad started driving and took a turn, again we saw a beach which was empty and mom and my sis wanted to enjoy there as well! How could I sit alone then? I joined too!

We played in the water there, I was shivering initially though. The intensity of the rain now increased and now we headed to our accommodation, but, that’s not it! We stepped outside our house on the other side which was kinda like a garden, but so much more than a garden and sat under the pillar on the benches and there, we three, mom, me and my sis had chit chat for a while. Now that the evening actually started to transition into night, we knew that it is time to now just relax at home, just relax!
